New Chapter

Many of you know this, but I started a new job on January 2.
I moved from undergraduate admission at Pepperdine to University Advancement. Specifically, I work with annual giving. There are new things happening at Pepperdine to develop our annual giving university-wide. I'll be responsible for Seaver College - developing new Associates and increasing annual gifts.

It will definitely be a challenge, but also very enjoyable. I'll be out of the office quite a bit meeting with alumni, parents, and other donors developing relationships and securing gifts.

I really like all the people I work for and they have been very generous in giving me this shot at making an impact on Pepperdine's financial future. We've come such a long way for being such a young University. Increased large gifts and an influx of robust annual giving in small amounts from alumni will publicly help make us that university that many of us already know it is (and what it can be). So for all my Pepperdine friends, you know I'll have to ask you for money at some point. But, I promise to not annoy you about it or pressure you to give more than what feels good to you.

Congratulations on your new Job! Hope you really do enjoy it as much as you think you will. Asking for money would not be my first choice of job. I find it difficult to ask the people who come to therapy to pay.

Hope we'll get back out to California sometime this year with the AAID and get to see you again!
