Little Sister is Half a Year Old!

Wow, here already? Crazy. This little girl's milestones so far pretty much jive with her brother's at this age (except weight). However, while Luke just had a round baby face until he was over a year old, Lacey has slightly more distinct little facial features. Don't get me wrong, she's still a little roly poly of baby chub, but you can sort of see the little girl she may become in her sweet face.

At 6 months, Lacey:
  • Weighs 16 lbs, 11 oz; is 26.5 inches long; has head circumference of 43 cm. All of these are within the 50th-75th percentile. Her height-weight ratio is 50/50, so just perfect.
  • Wears size 3 diapers; wears 6 months and 6-9 month clothes; size 2 shoes
  • Grabs for her feet often while on her back
  • Rolls all over when playing and also in her crib
  • Has started cereal and seems to be doing well. We're up to twice a day and will start her on the yellow veggies soon.
  • Still exclusively on breastmilk.
  • Still blows raspberries and makes a hilarious spitting noise. Has also started making a "puh" P sound.
  • Can sit up with the help of the boppy. Eventually falls forward or backward, but getting stronger!
  • Is a bit spoiled and does not like to be put down for long.
  • Has to have prune juice every couple days to keep her regular. Now that she's ready for food we can go with prunes and nix the juice for a while. Better a little sugar than the crying, hurting baby, though.
  • Developed eczema recently with a recent viral rash. When rash went away, eczema improved drastically, but we are continuing a complete fragrance-free routine with special soap-free bath wash and shampoo, and yes, back to the expensive, organic diapers we used with Luke. Sigh...
  • Still not sleeping through the night, but the cereal at night does seem to help. She has only been waking once, then not again until 5 or 6 am when she eats again, then back to sleep.
  • Sleeps with her blankie OVER her face. I will go up and pull it off, but she puts it right back over again. She even gets it all smoothed out. I have given in and decided she's fine that way. Also still wants her paci when sleeping.
  • Cereal at 5:30 pm, bath at 6 pm, bottle and bed btwn 6:20-6:45. Is not up for good until after 8 am typically, but does wake the couple times to eat.
  • Morning nap is improving in length (btwn 1-2 hours), but afternoon nap still only about 1/2 hour.
  • Is a happy girl who LOVES her brother! She always smiles when she sees him and loves to play with him! Conversely, Luke is actually quite gentle with her and likes to hold out his arms and say, "Lessey, come see me!"

 Valentine's Day picture attempt #1

Attempt #2

Just chillaxin'.

Until she realized that the TV was turned on...
(like her brother, the girl does love TV)

Didn't take long for her to get the hang of the jumperoo!
She loves the freedom it gives her and bounces like crazy!

Seem to have gotten a bit tangled up here, Mom!
(Pretty sure she started out 180 degrees the other way...)

Blurry book means she was moving it all around!
Happy girl playing!

Look at me sitting up!

First time trying cereal!

First walk where she was big enough to fit in the stroller seat and not her car seat!

6 month growth shot in the car seat!

So sweet at 6 months!
Though life is busy with 2 and especially when we're still not getting a full night's sleep, we love this girl and her brother and would not change it!!
