The Most Wonderful Time of the Year at the Happiest Place on Earth

Every year, Sarah and I like to visit Disneyland at Christmas Time. We were able to get a pretty good discount on a 1-day park hopper pass from Sarah's office building. We wanted to get there close to opening time, but someone wasn't quite ready. We got there about 9am and we made our traditional stop at the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Mainstreet. We headed over to check out the Finding Nemo Subs line, but it was already an hour and not something we felt was worth the sacrifice of time. The longest line we waited in all day was 15 minutes, most were 10 minutes or less. The forecast had said it would rain in the morning and then clear out by the afternoon, but we only felt a total of 1- raindrops or so the entire day. It was pretty cold for So Cal and Sarah wasn't quite prepared to be comfortable all day (she says it has something to do with my rushing her out the door, but I say there wasn't much rushing if we left 30 minutes late).

But, we were able to find enough indoor attractions to keep us from being in the cold all day. We had bread bowls (more like cups) with chili for lunch and listened to a little Ragtime piano playing. But, we always take time in the afternoon to lounge around the lobby of the Grand Californian.

We got to do everything we wanted to do, except visit the new Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island (it was closed due to the "rain"). We even introduced Sarah to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

We stayed until 9:00pm and I drove us home, while Sarah slept.

It sounds like the 2 of you had fun despite the cooler temps. the high yesterday here was 77, NOT typical for Memphis. Dad said it was helping us to get ready for the warm temps in Togo. We will be sure to give lots of hug from the 2 of you to the Emersons. We will miss being with you guys( did I said you guys instead of ya'll!!) at Christmas. I know you will greatly enjoy your time with Sarah's family. We love you,
Mom and Dad
