New Eyes

I bought my glasses about a week before our wedding in August 2001. (A few of you may remember the humorous event of me breaking a pair of glasses at Rendezvous that summer.) My glasses have been through all kinds of stuff. I've sat on them a few times, the lenses have popped out and cracked on the edges, and the frame has been bent quite a bit. 6 years is a long time to have the same pair of glasses.

Well, they finally broke on Thursday night (from old age). And I was forced to finally find a replacement this weekend. I liked having the rimless look of my past two pairs of glasses - it's what I was used to. But Sarah was encouraging me to venture into a new look. We happened to get a pretty good helper at Lenscrafters who suggested a few pairs that looked better than anything Sarah and I had picked out. So after much deliberation . . . here are the new glasses. (Compare with the old ones)

I think they look great!!! 6 years is too long to go without an eye exam, fella. OK, enough of the nagging mom, I do like them and am glad you are enjoying them. =-)

Just because I went 6 years without getting new glasses doesn't mean i didn't have an eye exam in there - remember who I'm married to. When I got my exam about two years ago my prescription hadn't changed enough to warrant new glasses. Which worked out well, because we didn't want to spend the money :)

I stand corrected.=-) We are constantly telling people that Sarah has been so good for you-
this case in point. =-) We want you both around for a long
time. =-)

Hmmm...Robert says get contacts. He's kidding. I do like the new ones much better-I thought something looked different the other day? I like they "rimmed" look.

That is so funny that Leslie would write about waiting 6 years for an eye exam being too long because that is exactly the same thing I thought when I read your blog (actually, I think you need one every year...maybe that's because I'm old and I need one every year), but I didn't want the first comment to be me fussing at you for waiting so long to get a check-up! New glasses look good though....I need to call for an eye appointment myself!
