HARRY POTTER MANIA!!

Anyone who knows us knows that we are huge HP fans. Truth be told, I was into it first and started reading aloud to get Allen interested because he didn't believe that the books were as good as I said they were. So the final book comes out in about 2 weeks and we can hardly contain our excitement nor our concern for Harry as the prophesy must be fulfilled in this last book. In preparation for book #7 we wanted to re-read book #6. Unfortunately, book #6 is no longer sitting on our shelf. (I am pretty sure that Annie took it, though she denies it completely.) Not to worry - resourceful Allen scoured the local libraries online to find one that had a copy. The Calabasas library had 2 copies. We checked them both out. Problem is, 2 copies means 2 readers and it has become a competition now -- who is more dedicated and has read the furthest? Yours truly, of course (and Al even had a head start!).

In the midst of our frantic catch-up reading, the next movie has come out, tonight in fact. I absolutely refused to go to a midnight showing because that's just silly. It's a movie and I am crabby without my nightly 8 hours of peaceful slumber. We negotiated and decided that we would go Wednesday night at 7:30 instead. I wanted to wait for the weekend, but Al was going without me if I didn't at least give in to Wednesday at a reasonable hour (he really wanted the midnight showing). He bought our tickets tonight to ensure they wouldn't be sold out tomorrow. I am sure we will have to arrive early to stand in line as well... I guess Mr. Harry Potter is worth it!

We report back after the showing! Stay tuned!
I have been intending to get a little something up about our 4th of July, but Allen's recently acquired MacBook hates me. Every time I get on, it freezes or wants to restart or something awful like that. This is actually my second attempt at this very post!

Anyhow, our 4th of July was wonderful! We slept in, had a yummy BBQ lunch at Jeremy and Amber's with the notorious tri-tip specialty, came home for nap , then took off for the Dodger game. What an American day it was! What's more American than a baseball game? The Dodgers lost, but we had a great time and the fireworks display afterward was amazing!

As soon as I get a couple girls (ahem) to send me some pics from our day, I can post them, too!
